jump to expanded posti love how the discord app on ipad (and im assuming iphone too) will get signed out and require a re-login if you don’t open it for too long, but it will still deliver notifications to that device (and opening one will take you to a login screen and/or the app’s cached view of that chat
@nyanotech if you're curious, i think this is because discord's websocket connection tends to stick around longer than it seems like it should. i bet you could still update your status or something through the websocket after your session expires if you tried; it's probably the /messages REST API endpoint returning a 401 that prompts the login screen.
(i have been trying to do shenanigans with the discord websocket for the past few days.)
@vivianrose @nyanotech I'm pretty sure it's not to do with the websocket gateway and just to do with how iOS does push notifications, which are handled with an external APNS server. That's why you can sometimes get discord push notifications even if the internet you're on blocks discord
