so i saw this drain grate by the office, and i saw the "250kN", and TIL that it is, in fact, kN for kilonewtons

but also like, i knew all those other things at the top of the product sheet were things they worry about, but TIL there's, like, standards and certifications etc for them

 a drain grate at the edge of a sidewalk, model number in the corner says "aco" and "250kN"
a datasheet for a similar drain grate from the same company. listed under "product features" are a bunch of standards it meets, such as 250kN load test rating, surface openings safe for high-heels, slip resistance, wheelchair and cane safety, and bicycle tire safety
